The WA Trotting Media Guild was formed 45 years ago to encompass all sections of the media for the purpose of publicising and helping to promote the sport of harness racing.  Public awareness of pacing events has been heightened by the Guild’s efforts to give the best coverage through newspapers, television, radio and the internet.  The Guild is actively involved in supporting the sport and organising functions during the season to finance the sponsorship of the Media Guild Cup.  Unlike most guilds, the WA Trotting Media Guild was formed solely to encourage the promotion of harness racing and, as a body, has proved to be one of the most successful of its kind in Australia.  Provide tips for the Gloucester Park race book and website each week their efforts are acknowledge each year by the Media Guild Cup, which has been run since 1979.

The current Media Guild  President is Wayne Currall and the other tipsters are Ernie Manning, Ken Casellas, Matt Young, Ryan Havercroft & Pat Harding.

• The Leading Tipster for 2023 was Matt Young.
• The Second Leading Tipster was Ken Casellas.
• The Third Leading Tipster was Ernie Manning.
• Pat Harding took out the Longest Priced Winner again this year.
• A tight knit team, Ernie Manning, Matt Young and Wayne Currall all shared the prize for the most winners in a night.
